Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Sandwell, West Midlands
Position Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs within the classroom setting.
- Utilize British Sign Language to effectively communicate with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs) as directed by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with speech and language development.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential.
- Experience working with students with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
