Position: Learning Support Assistant
School: Mainstream Secondary School, Thamesmead, Greenwich
Start Date: September 2023
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)
Pay Range: £80.00 - £100.00 per day (dependent on experience)

Requirements:

• Previous child-based experience.
• Possession of an enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Genuine passion for working with young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and educational activities.
• Assist students in overcoming learning barriers and promoting inclusivity in the classroom.
• Support students in their academic progress, including homework, assignments, and exam preparation.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being and personal development.
• Work alongside other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as required.
