Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant in a Mainstream Secondary School in Lewisham

This full-time, long-term position is available immediately and will last until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students within the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  2. Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help.
  3. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Assisting with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials.
  5. Supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  6. Encouraging student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
  7. Assisting with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  1. Previous child-based experience, preferably within an educational setting.
  2. A clear and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  5. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  6. A genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue a career in this field.
  7. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school.
