Protocol Education are currently seeking candidates with backgrounds in Performing Arts- Dance/Drama/Acting etc, to work as a Teaching Assistant at one of our schools in Wolverhampton (United Kingdom). We work with a number of Primary, Secondary and SEND schools across the city, which we can work around your preferences. 

We have positions on an on-going basis dependent on needs and demands across the schools, with the potential to go long-term across the academic year 2024, or permanent.

In this highly rewarding role, you will be supporting vulnerable children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, such as Anxiety/Depression/complex learning disabilities, or being identified as having a statement of an educational need or an Educational, health and care plan (EHCP). The impact of COVID-19 on young children's mental health has significantly increased, resulting in a higher demand for support across schools in the UK to help with catch-up.

This role is perfect for applicants with backgrounds in Performing Arts, Care Work, or Psychology for example, who are seeking a position working as the likes of a Teacher, Child Psychology, Social Worker, Counsellor, or an Educational Psychologist.  

Key requirements:

  • Have a degree in a Performing Arts related subject, or experience working in a Performing Arts role
  • Have an understanding of SEND and SEMH needs
  • Working Monday-Friday (term-time only)
  • Hours of between typically 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Have excellent communication skills 
  • Have a passion for supporting children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
