Start date: September 2024 

Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham looking for an Assistant Principal to lead teaching and learning or curriculum and assessment across the school.

As an Assistant Principal / Assistant Headteacher, you’ll work closely alongside the Principal and the wider leadership team. You will need to demonstrate a proven track record of effective leadership leading to improved pupil outcomes, as well as a commitment to your own education.

This post is suitable for someone with vision and substance, who has a track record of leading improvement in a comprehensive school environment.

You have:

  • Responsibility for raising standards across the whole school
  • Experience of successfully working with colleagues to improve teaching and learning/curriculum and assessment provisions
  • Experience of effectively supporting children with significant barriers to learning to achieve within the context of a mainstream classroom
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • B.Ed. or degree with PGCE or similar qualification
  • Recent leadership and management experience such as Assistant Principal/Curriculum Leader/Head of Year
  • Successful completion of course such as NPQSL, NPQML (Desirable)
