We are looking for experience special educational needs teaching assistants to work in a brilliant SEND school in Nottingham.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have had previous experience working with children / young people who have special educational needs.

As an Special educational needs teaching assistant, you could:

• Prepare learning materials for the class.
• Modify your way of teaching support according to student's needs
• Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
• Work with fellow Special educational needs teaching assistants to identify specific needs of each child
• Teach and mentor students, both collectively and individual
• Observe children to find out changes in behaviour or in other areas and report such observations to the classroom teacher

The right special educational needs Teaching Assistant will:

• Have patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Have sensitivity and understanding
• Enjoy working with other people
• Be flexible and open to change
• Have excellent verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to understand people’s reactions
• have active listening skills
• Be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
